How To Buy A Quality Wheatgrass Juicer

When it comes to green juicing, you will have many choices to sift through. There are so many on the market today that you will find yourself cycling through a lot of different options. All of them will have clever marketing and promise power, quality and high extraction. This can be a painstaking thing to dive through, which is why you should look at a variety of choices when you’re going to purchase a juicer. If you are making green juice, and you want to add things like wheatgrass to the mix, you will need to buy a quality juicer that can deliver on the promise of steady streams without it getting stuck or breaking. The following will help break down the best features to look for when shopping for a high quality, long lasting juicer.

The Method Matters

The way juicers work to make green juice differs from type of juicer  and model. You will find that there are a lot of options on the market today that not only extract, but cut and dice as well. Some will spin (centrifugal juicers ) the fruit and vegetable pieces at a high rate of speed and cause the juice to come out, leaving pulp in a separate container. There are advantages to each style, but if you’re working on just one type of solution, such as wheatgrass, you may want a dedicated wheatgrass style juicer.  High yield on wheatgrass juice requires a stronger than average solution, so make sure that you look at the method of extraction first.

For instance, you will not want to get a centrifugal solution, and you may not want to get a triturating option either. Please see our juicer guide for clarification on juicer types. Your best choice may be to look for a dedicated solution that is outside of the scope of being a multi-purpose juicer. Look for a choice that is labeled specifically for grasses, and you may be on the right route.

In regards to the choice, some find that grinding, or a mastication option may work, but only if it is dedicated to grasses and leafy vegetables. This may be a matter of debate, and some may find it frustrating to go back and forth, but some of the best juicers are in fact labeled masticating, even if they use a grinding mechanism as well.

Manual Versus Automatic

There is a growing number of people looking at manual wheatgrass juicers for making green juice. You may find this to be an excellent choice, but may find it too much work to manually turn a handle to get a small amount of juice. For those that don’t want to go with a manual solution, consider automatic options.

Automatic juicers are appealing for those that want to make a large batch each day, or want to make one cup. Manual grinders are getting a lot of publicity right now, which is why you may lean in that direction. However, you’ll find that a few options can grind, and even squeeze out juice in an appropriate manner, leaving you with a high yield. Convenience and counter space will also determine which type of juicer you decide upon.

Look At Reviews and Prices

Only you can determine your budget, but at the same time, make sure that you do not go too low on the price, as you will find quality is important for this type of small appliance. Consider our reviews, think about your needs, and budget accordingly.
